He had been living in Grenoble since 1942 where he was responsible for the Polish Red Cross.At the same time he was involved in Polish underground movements which meant that the Gestapo agents were constantly on his heels. Before World War Two he had been the Polish Delegate to the League of Nations from 1936 and also Polish Ambassador in Bern.In 1940, after the invasion of his homeland, he and his family moved to France and eventually to Grenoble.After the war he lived with his family in London where he wrote several books on Polish history and was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Law courts in The Hague.He died in London in 1967.
